Getting to Georgia

Our tours are land only, so you book your own flights. This page covers which airport suits which tour, how British travellers usually fly, and what to check before you buy a ticket.

Three of our tours start in Tbilisi and one in Kutaisi, so the airport you fly into matters.

Kutaisi to Tbilisi is about three and a half hours by road, according to the Georgian National Tourism Administration. Landing in the wrong city adds several hours of road, so please check with us before you book.

From the UKFlying from Britain

British Airways launched a non-stop service from London Heathrow to Tbilisi in March 2025, and easyJet also sells flights to Tbilisi (its website showed fares for November 2026 when we looked on 15 October 2026). Days and times change, so check them with each airline. Routes to Kutaisi, which suit Warm Svaneti, are covered in our guide to getting to Svaneti.

Last looked at on 15 October 2026. We have not confirmed every airline's current timetable. Schedules change often and fares move, so treat these as examples, not promises, and avoid non-refundable tickets until your place on a tour is confirmed.

ArrivalFrom the airport to your hotel

Tbilisi airport is on the edge of the city, a short drive from the centre in normal traffic. You do not need to work out buses or taxis: on Winter Georgia, Tbilisi and Beyond and Mountains and Wine we arrange your airport transfer on arrival and on departure.

If your flight lands in the small hours, your room may not be ready straight away. Tell us your flight when you enquire and we will plan the first day around it. On tours that finish outside Tbilisi, a very early flight home may mean changing the last day, and we agree that with you before you book. If you would like an extra night in Tbilisi before or after, tell us: we check availability and confirm the price before you book.

EntryVisas and insurance

The UK government says British citizens can visit Georgia without a visa for up to one year, and that your passport should be valid for the whole of your stay. It also requires visitors to hold health and accident insurance for the whole stay, with cover of at least 30,000 Georgian lari. Travel insurance is required on our tours as well.

The same advice recommends against all travel to Abkhazia and South Ossetia, and none of our itineraries enters either region. Entry rules can change, so please read the current advice before you travel.

ElsewhereFlying from somewhere other than the UK?

We are London based, but you do not have to be. Tell us your departure city and your passport and we will look at routes with you. Entry rules depend on your nationality, so check your own government's advice as well. If you would rather design the whole trip around your dates, have a look at Create your tour.

Not sure which flight to book?

Send us your dates and where you are flying from. We will check routes and timings with you before you buy anything.

QuestionsWhat travellers ask

Which airport should I fly into for a Georgia tour?

Tbilisi (TBS) for Winter Georgia, Tbilisi and Beyond and Mountains and Wine. Kutaisi (KUT) for Warm Svaneti. Each tour page names its airport.

Are flights included in the tours?

No. Our tours are land only, so you book your own international flights. We are happy to look at routes and timings with you before you buy.

Is the airport transfer included?

On Winter Georgia, Tbilisi and Beyond and Mountains and Wine, yes: we arrange your airport transfer on arrival and departure. For Warm Svaneti, the transfer from Kutaisi airport to your hotel is included too. Each tour page sets out exactly what the price covers.

My flight lands in the middle of the night. What happens?

Tell us your flight details when you enquire. Your room may not be ready straight away on an early landing, and we plan the first day around your arrival. If you would like an extra night before day one, we check availability and confirm the price before you book.
